They said the shooter has Asperger syndrome. Why would you give a retard a gun in the first place? And how is one kid going to be the reason they crack down on gun control? And because some stupid-ass mother, who's now dead, let her autistic kid have a gun, innocent children and teachers are dead.
My prayers are with those who lost their children and loved ones during the tragedy. No child should see that kind of evil.
States with stricter gun control laws have fewer deaths from gun-related violence. Moore's 2002 film, Bowling for Columbine, probes the culture of guns and violence in the United States, taking as a starting point the Columbine High School massacre of 1999.
You only have to look at the global statistics of deaths by firearms to see that the countries where owning a gun is legal have a massively higher level of deaths. And the countries where owning guns is not legal DO NOT have a high level of murders by rocks or knives. What Americans tend to forget is the fact that when their Constitution was written with the 'right to hold firearms', it was a time of civil war and unrest.
My thoughts go out to everyone involved, but especially to the families who lost one of their beloved and innocent children. But let us also not forget another terrible nightmare that has had hardly even been reported around the world of the 22 children in China who on the very same day came very close to death themselves when a crazed madman entered their school slashing them with a knife. The few and vague news reports tell of these children having grotesque wounds with fingers and ears cut off. [link] None of these nightmares will ever be erased from the hearts and minds of all involved.
That doesnt make one tragedy any less nightmarish than the other. Both are terrible atrocities that have hit many families, communities and the emotions of everyone whether they are directly related to these events or not. NONE of this should be happening....whether they be children or adults, holiday season or any other time...it just shouldn't happen.

yes they are both horrible incidents,....however..the ones that were attacked with a knife are still with their families"alive", and their families still have their children, so to compare one with the other is completely irrelevant and very flawed.
What about the 140 people killed with US tax dollars in Palestine just 2 weeks ago, 40 of them were kids. I saw very little to empathise with their suffering on dA. How and why do we all go to the US before anywhere else? Of course we all care but 168 killed in Pakistan also by US drone dollars... Many of them are kids... Why? Whatever your God is he/she cares about all people not just Americans.
Because we have to remember all those who have died through wrong doings not just one particular event...
I come across this attitude every day that it is all about America and no one else matters. The 140 that were killed in Palestine just 2 weeks ago. I did not see anyone on dA mention this and the 40 children amongst them. Then the massacre at the end of 2008 when the Israelis bombed and killed over 1400 in Gaza. Only 3 Israelis died.
I want everyone to be aware of the mass genocides that are happening right now and that it has to all stop... Sorry if you do not like my view point. I have been an activist since the early 70's and have seen far too much needless killing. There are so many lies being spread by the mass media about Sandy Hook and there is a connection with LIBOR, the banking scandal... It is being seriously promoted by the media and the rest of the killings are unnoticed.
In the past day there have been 176 more shootings in the US...
22 kids were stabbed in China on the same day... Where is that mentioned???
nearly 3,000 reported killed on 9/11, yet nearly 2,000,000 killed in acts of war in retaliation. For what. If it had been done by Saudia's, why was Afghanistan invaded?????
168 killed in the last year by US drones in Pakistan too... I have many American friends that I love dearly but they too are victims as they are not told the truth...
Sorry I am the least selfish person you will ever come across. I am 68 years old and live on benefits. I have everything I will ever need. A roof over my head and enough to eat. You need to know me a great deal better. I fight for human rights for everyone in the world who is in need and in pain of any kind...
Disarm the world, that means everyone. It is the only way to have sustainable people.
Because we have to remember all those who have died through wrong doings not just one particular event... Disagree ... I agree we need to remember all of them but there is nothing wrong with honouring the memories of one event at a particular time.
If you want people to be aware of other events then point them out on your page. Don't complain that certain people are honouring certain events. You want to mention the Chinese kids? Then do it. Want to mention the Palestinians? Then do it. But why on earth slam someone for doing what you want to do but do not do?
You may think you are not selfish because of certain aspects, but to speak out against someone sending wishes is a selfish act. Go out and spread positivity ... no need to be negative over children being shot (which is how this is coming across)
It's impracticable to disarm. Criminals have their way of getting what they need (it may reduce the problem but it most certainly will not stop it)

Bless the families, there are no words I can honestly say but, that I have been grieving with you. If anyone has children, this is a great time to put away the computers and cell phones and give them a strong hug and love them a little more.
